So what is the hype about a party with tea? Well if you love to eat, enjoy sitting and chatting with friends, and you love to relax...then a Tea Party might be exactly what you need to experience!

There are many ways to enjoy drinking tea. The simplest and most affordable way is to do it at home, either relaxing with a good book or watching a movie, or by entertaining your friends (or your parents).

The next affordable way is to go to a tea shop or tea cafe, purchase one of their teas and a snack, such as a scone or banana bread, and enjoy it at their venue by yourself or with friends.

The next way of enjoying tea is by attending a Tea Party, which can cost $$ per person or a High Tea (which can cost $$$ per person) to experience a delicious assortment of tea treats: fruit, pastries, sandwiches, scones with condiments, chocolates or little candies, petit fours and more. And of course it includes unlimited tea, so you can drink your favorite or sample new flavors.

Whichever way you prefer to enjoy your tea, remember to enjoy your socialization time. Relax, make new friends, and enjoy yourself!

A little history of my Love of Tea: I have been enjoying tea parties for many, many years. I have fond memories of getting dressed up in fancy clothes and entering a magnificent room filled with bright lights, a chandelier, and tons of dainty tables. One of my first experiences was with my grandmother Rose Mary. She and I enjoyed an assortment of cute tea sandwiches; scones with delicious, freshly-whipped cream; grapes, petit fours, and other tasty treats. For my 21st birthday, I invited the ladies in my family to join me for High Tea - which is a super fancy tea party, much more dainty and exquisite than hosting a party for your friends at your own house. It's similar to going to a fancy restaurant, versus eating junk food. It is expected that you use manners, dress fancy, use appropriate indoor voices and language, and some people even put their pinky finger in the air while sipping their tea.

I would like to explain the three basic elements of hosting a tea party: the food, the atmosphere, and the guests. For a child's tea party, the atmosphere will include games and crafts, cute cups filled with caffeine-free tea (or hot cocoa or juice), and a room full of little people who won't be able to sit still for a long period of time. For a teenager's party, the atmosphere will be more talking and laughing. The girls may want to paint their nails, watch a movie, or listen to music videos on the internet (and show off their dance moves). They will drink tea and eat much more food than younger girls, and their party will most likely happen in a bedroom, rather than in a dining room. Adults are similar to teenagers in the way they socialize - no games or crafts - just tea, snacks and a great conversation. Adults may dress up a little, discuss books or movies, and play fun adult games (like you would see for a bridal shower or baby shower).
