BEREA, Ohio (AP) - Browns president Mike Holmgren plans to meet with Jim Brown in the next few days in hopes of patching up his rift with the Hall of Fame running back.
Holmgren said he has reached out to Brown, who has informed the team he intends to participate in alumni activities this weekend. Brown has been at odds with Holmgren since he was relieved of his duties as a senior advisor to owner Randy Lerner, who is selling the franchise to Jimmy Haslam III.
Brown was stung by Holmgren's decision and he boycotted a ceremony in 2010, when the Browns unveiled a ring of honor inside their stadium. Brown will be on the field for a halftime ceremony on Sunday as former Browns Ernie Green and Clarence Scott are inducted into the team's legends club.
